Meet The Designer- Andrew Flashman
This month we have the pleasure of interviewing the designer Andrew Flashman. Andrew has worked in many luxury residences across the USA, including estates in the Hamptons and Southern California, and apartments in Manhattan and Florida. As a top kitchen designer, Andrew has been published numerous times in nationwide magazines.

What inspires you and your design work?
Great architecture, art, music, people, design (both past and present), new materials to work with.
What is your number one tip for creating a beautiful environment?
Don’t be constrained by the obvious.
What trends are you seeing in interiors lately? And, is there anything you particularly love?
The mix of materials from different design concepts. For instance, organic and industrial, contemporary with antique etc. I love that we are able to mix materials in new ways to create new design solutions.
Tell us one interesting characteristic about the services you offer.
One of the main parts of my business is that I supply cabinets and so I often collaborate with other designers by supplying cabinets for their projects.
How do you combine beauty and function?
I believe that they work together. In the process of creating a room, the function is very important but without beauty the function is irrelevant.
What’s your favorite project to date and why?
That is a tough question. There are aspects of every project that stand out, whether it is the way the textures and colors interact or the way the light fills the space, or the way home owners enjoy their space. I don’t think I have ever worked on a project that doesn’t continue to resonate in some way.
How do you define success?
When a client loves their home enough to refer us to a friend.
What’s the best part about your job?
Being allowed to create, sometimes with free range, but more often with the client to bring the space they envision to life.
What do you love most about the Famosa Showroom?
The amazing range and depth of products, and the ability to work with Angela and Vanessa to create and blend new textures together.
Do you have any particular goals for your career/business in the future?
To keep offering new ideas and worthy design solutions that bring projects to life and fullfill our clients dreams.
